Events based in Community

If there's one thing I value in life, it's community! The ability to bring people to together, no matter their backgrounds, and create meaningful experiences through events that I plan is an amazing feat. 

Using my marketing and events background,  I strive to produce engaging experiences: connecting people, sparking conversation, and leaving lasting impressions. 

I believe that successful events are not just well-organised  - they are opportunities to build relationships, celebrate diversity, and create the sense of belonging in which communities thrive.

Through my work in Music PR, Journalism and Production, I've helped bring many live events to life within the music industry. As a Camera Rigger for the Vancouver Eras Tour Shows; booking and bringing local shows to life; marketing and promoting musicians and their music; I have immensely valued my time uplifting the Vancouver, and International, music community. 

Creating a safe and inclusive environment at my events is of the utmost importance. Hosting events for many different cultures including Chinese New Year, Diwali, International Potlucks and more, I love allowing people to celebrate and share their cultures. As a VP Events in the UBC Masters of Management program, I pride myself on bringing together a 60 person cohort from across the world through my events.

An event's marketing can lead to its success or downfall. Through a marketing focus in my Masters of Management, work in music PR, and my job as a Social Media Manager, I believe that believe that thoughtful, strategic communication can transform an event into a must-attend experience. By understanding audiences and leveraging digital platforms, I am able to build excitement, reach the right communities, and ensure events attract attention and create lasting impact.

From a 10,000 person snowball fight, 40 person laser-tag game, go-karting, archery tag and more - I find adventure to be a success factor in bringing people together. Recently, as the Event Manager for the Vancouver Rigging Community, I bring together people from the events industry through events I know they enjoy: exciting, challenging and high adrenaline! 

Having successfully organised an international trip for a 12 person group over the span of 2-weeks, I learnt a lot about the challenges of booking and planning events overseas. Hoping to work with larger, international tours and promotions in the future, this experience gave me valuable insight into operations, itinerary processes, and scheduling that come with events spanning across different countries and even continents.
